Maybe the last entry from U.S. soil..
Most likely, there won't be news to report...or time to do so, until we have landed in Bogota...so, off we go. I finally changed the settings so anyone can leave us a comment, if you'd like, without having to create a blogger account (apologies!). There's nothing like waiting 'til the last minute to pack so the next several hours should be exciting :-)
Por si revisan el blog entre hoy y el jueves...lo más probable es que no tengamos noticias hasta el viernes, ya descansaditos y en Bogotá. Como salimos de la ciudad al norte de nosotros, la odisea del viaje empieza mañana en la tarde. El jueves salimos a las 6 de la mañana y, Dios mediante, llegamos a las 8:30, aproximadamente, a Bogotá. La diferencia de tiempo son tres horas. Por ahorita....a seguir empacando en las próximas horas. Por ahi échense una oracioncita para que nos vaya bien en el viaje. Y, si nos quieren dejar un comentario, son bienvenidos (y no se tienen que registrar!).

Noticias, Noticias...
Pues ya...salimos hacia Colombia el jueves. Conoceremos, D.M., a Pablo Santiago el lunes...dentro de una semanita ya estará en nuestros brazos. Y, ahorita voy a poner un nueva foto. Se parece a la otra foto? Si tienen curiosidad, me preguntan.
Yes, we are leaving this Thursday, though we won't get to meet him until a week from today. A WEEK FROM TODAY he'll be in our arms forever. Long story about the picture. But you can see his smiley face in the next post. I hope you didn't get too attached to the other picture.

5 de Marzo
Ese dia conoceremos a Pablo Santiago. Lo recibiremos temprano y estara con nosotros por siempre! Aunque nuestros papeles estan en orden, dicen que estan muy ocupados en Chiquitines y no nos pueden recibir antes. Nuesto pobre bebe tendra que esperarnos mucho mas de lo que quisieramos.
So, still waiting but at least we have confirmation of the day we will actually receive our son. He stays with us from the moment we meet him, as we proceed through the legal maze which culminates in an adoption decree while in Cali. So, we are literally we are counting the days and nights until March 5th. Right now, still trying to figuring out the flight arrangemenst which make more sense for us and our budget :-)

More waiting
If you have seen us lately, you know that we continue to wait for a travel date. The latest estimate is February 23. The date is not coming soon enough but we'll manage with the wait. If we've waited this long, we can wait a bit more. Lulu, for now, is being a lot more patient than mom.
Gracias por esperar con nosotros
Ahorita no dan ganas de escribir mas hasta que tengamos fecha de viaje pero como este blog es nuestra coneccion con los que saben que estamos esperando...pues SEGUIMOS esperando. Todavia estamos en casa. Con optimismo y cautela a la vez, esperamos saber, alrededor del proximo martes, si viajaremos para conocer en persona a Pablo Santiago, por primera vez y siempre, el 26 de Febrero.

Estamos que nos vamos y no nos vamos
Ya terminamos y enviamos todos los documentos que nos pidieron. Solo esperamos que Chiquitines nos de fecha para viajar. Mientas esperamos mas días, esperamos poder terminar el cuarto de Pablo, que esta pintado a medias y hecho un desastre.
We were told by the agency to expect to travel the weekend of Feb. 17. We should know the date in a few days. This means that Pablo Santiago will have to wait a little longer than we wanted to meet us. Lulu already explained to him (talking to his picture) that there were some delays with the "papers" :-)

One more document and we should be good to go!
Just waiting to hear back from the FBI and we should be good to go,....unless we are told something is the matter with something we've already sent (sorry, I don't mean to be negative....just that nothing is final until we land back home with our son). The visas have been received, the plane tickets have been purchased...just FBI....can you hear us?
We still have lots to do. Some shopping for a few things. Lots of packing, organizing. We have a lists of lists (Jose is the master of lists). So....we are in the home stretch now. Please continue to wish us well.
Esperando ya casi irnos
Con Lulu algo enferma y todo, la semana pasada fue productiva y ya casi estamos listos para irnos. Solo necesitamos recibir el reporte de la FBI y que Colombia diga que todos los documentos estan en orden para podernos ir. Tenemos boletos para salir el sabado 10 de febrero pero no sabemos con seguridad hasta dentro de unos dias si esa sera la fecha. Por fin empezamos a pintar el cuarto de Pablo Santiago. Sus tia (y espero que tenga algunos ayudantes) se quedara encargada de los toques finales para que sea bello y habitable para cuando regresemos. Lulu le compro unos 'shorts' a su hermano para meterlo a la alberca. Pobre hermano! Esperamos que este bien descansado para cuando su hermana lo conozca.
